SmartCam3D: Real-time 3D Video Annotation

SmartCam3D enriches video by overlaying precise 3-dimensional information in real-time. Using the powerful LandForm® terrain engine, SmartCam3D builds a precise model of the scene being viewed by the camera, and then overlays this scene on the video at up to 30 frames per second. It is real-time 3 dimensional video annotation. The scene model, sometimes called the synthetic vision display, can either be blended with the video scene or overlaid upon the video scene as a wire-drawing. Users may incorporate the worldwide LandForm aviation databases to embed important information into the 3D scene. These databases are updated every 28 days.

A Heads Up Display (HUD) is also overlaid on the scene to provide additional information like pitch, heading and roll angles, and other information of interest to the user. This HUD can be configured by the user quickly and easily. SmartCam3D has been used by NASA and other government agencies as a primary situation awareness display for unmanned systems because it enhances mission effectivness, and sensor operators love it.

Requirements

While SmartCam3D works on many computers, best performance will be obtained on Pentium 4 or Xeon systems running at 1.8 GHz or faster. Ideally a large system cache and front-side bus running at 400 MHz or faster. There are many computers with these specifications on the market today, but if you have particular systems or would like to have a system which includes the hardware, our staff can configure a Dell workstation with SmartCam software to fit your needs.
