HD - High Definition Video Support

Over the past year high definition video has begun to be widely adopted. It is easy to see why - a 1080i video contains several times more information than a standard definiton picture. SmartCam3D Fusion 5.3 now supports high definition video (1080i/720p&i) MPEGKLV video.

Unattended Ground Surveillance Sensors

For the last two years we have been working with SmartCam3D and SmartCam3D Fusion on unattended ground surveillance sensors, and with great results.  Over the last year we have remotely operated a ground based video surveillance camera from a great distance using SmartCam3D Fusion over the network.   SmartCam3D products work very well with sensors on the ground, at sea, or in the air.  Our products work well with both gimbaled (instrumented) and fixed cameras, including pole cameras, portable surveillance systems, as well as special purpose cameras.  No modification of existing SmartCam3D or Fusion products is required to use data from a ground sensor - simply connect the data stream in the proper format (e.g. MPEG/KLV). 

A key enabling technology behind this new development is the Geo-Spatial Video Network, or GSVN.  This capability allows an analyst to remotely access and analyze geographically-enriched video from any instrumented camera on the ground or elsewhere.  Analysts then move rapidly between different data sources without loosing geographic context.   SmartCam3D allows surveillance sensor operators to get the most out of the data available and to intelligently manage large quantities of data.  It is a vital tool for operator and analysts real time situation awareness.

Introducing SmartCam3D Fusion 5.0

In December 2008 SmartCam3D Fusion 5.0 has been released with several important new situation awareness features for UAS sensor operators, including DVR-style controls for MPEG/KLV video review and clip abstraction.  Like previous versions, it supports automatic loading of topography, imagery, terrestrial data on start up.  It also provides a platform simulation which allows for embedded sensor operator training in the most realistic manner.  It also supports multi-panel display configurations which help defeat the "soda straw" effect, and provide vastly enhanced SA.  SmartCam3D Fusion 5.0 has shown excellent utility for UGS (Unattended Ground Sensor) operation.
